Invitation

Happy Advent.  I am excited to have my shortbread story and a family recipe featured today at My First Kitchen.  I would love for you to follow this link for a visit over there.  For the last several weeks, Kendra has been featuring cookie recipes from her readers and the stories behind these cookies.  

It's a contest.  Voting begins next Wednesday and folks can vote once a day for a week.  Of course I would appreciate it if you would vote once or twice or seven times.  I'll send a reminder when the voting begins.

You may have read my story when it was posted this time last year.  Even if you have, however, I would encourage you to stop over at My First Kitchen.  If you are hoping to add a new cookie to your repertoire this Christmas you could peruse the cookie recipes there.  Or check out previous posts and get to know Kendra.  She is a lovely woman with a very readable blog of interest to anyone who likes time spent in the kitchen.

hi, emily! thank you for your thoughtful words over at my blog. it looks like you have dedicated some time to enjoy waiting. we, too, put off full day/formal school kindergarten for our oldest and it was such a blessing. i'm so thankful for the time we gave him to grow.
